    How to deal with diet culture

    So, you’ve rejected the weight-loss-for-health paradigm. You’re working on accepting your body and challenging diet culture. You’re trying to honor your hunger and your cravings. Yet at every turn, you find yourself immersed in a conversation about the best way to lose weight, or about somebody’s new attempt at the Paleo diet, or how to get visible abs in time for summer. What to do? Yeah, I don’t really know. But I’ll give it a shot.

    How diets impact your ability to make decisions

    I hope everyone had a good weekend! Last week, I had a great little getaway to Geneva and the surrounding area in France and Switzerland. I stayed with family friends who I didn’t remember, but they were so warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. They really reminded me of the people in my life back home. I guess that shouldn’t surprise me- my grandmother and the father’s mother have been best friends for about six decades. Anyway, I felt a little homesick upon returning to Seville because of that. Plus, we’ve had two spring breaks in four weeks (no complaints…
